Weston is seeking a Water Treatment Engineer, Scientist, or Geoscientist to support a vital community impact project. This role will assist senior technical and management staff in delivering engineering solutions that make a real difference by improving water, wastewater, and environmental remediation systems to help communities in need. The successful candidate will be local to the site to provide field support and ensure the project's long-term success.This project offers the opportunity to assist with long-term operations and treatment system modifications for a potable water pretreatment system.The system is currently in place and operating to allow the City's WTP to remain in operation providing potable water for the residents of Ashville, NC.The system requires capital improvements and operating modifications for long-term service.This position will assist with the design, construction, and operations for these improvements while maintaining the existing equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.Also with relevant experience, Geo or Environmental Science degree.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with water, wastewater, or remediation design, construction, or operations projects.
  • Interest or experience in operations, troubleshooting, and support of water treatment and remediation systems.
  • Experience with potable water treatment operations is a plus.
  • Experience or knowledge of water treatment testing and analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Willingness to travel locally with a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Autodesk Civil 3D, or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Understanding of Bentley MicroStation and ESRI ArcMap is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to consult with colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors; able to explain scopes of work and obtain vendor quotes.
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective technical writing abilities to assist with report writing and cost estimating.
  • Required to be on site full-time and ready to work weekends or during holidays if required.
Expected Outcomes:
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from environmental studies including water, wastewater, geotechnical, and hydrogeological investigations as well as remediation and operations activities.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analyze, and apply design criteria to support remediation and treatment projects.
  • Assist in preparing engineering designs, including plans, specifications, and operational reports.
  • Support procurement efforts for equipment vendors and contractors.
  • Collaborate with CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, and other team members to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist lead Project Engineers and Program Manager with project cost estimation and tracking.
  • Coordinate data tabulation, evaluation, and report preparation. Assist in quality control and review of engineering designs and specifications.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $59,963-$79,028-$97,990
