Electro-Mechanical Technician Job ID JR101925 Date posted 07/22/2025 The Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) at Brookhaven is a DOE-funded national scientific user facility, offering users a supported research experience with top-caliber scientists and access to state-of-the- art instrumentation. The CFN mission is advancing nanoscience through frontier fundamental research and technique development and is the nexus of a broad collaboration network. Each year, CFN staff members support the research of nearly 600 external facility users. The Center for Functional Nanomaterials is seeking an Operations Electro-Mechanical Technician to support our scientific user facility. In this position, you will report to the Operations Group Leader and be part of the CFN Operations Team. You will interact with scientific staff, vendors, and users. You are responsible for providing electrical and mechanical support for the setup, debug, and maintenance of technical - scientific instruments (e.g. electron microscopes, lasers, pressurized gas systems, chillers, vacuum, and deposition tools). You will have experience in the following areas: electrical systems, plumbing systems, compressed gases, materials handling, assembly of experimental equipment, ordering both onsite and offsite materials, working independently and collaborating as part of a team. This is a multi-level role and the full salary range for this position is $76100 - $104000 / year. You will be placed at the level and salary commensurate with your experience. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
