Role Profile

The Consumer Insights Manager will champion the voice of the end consumer across Eastman's diverse business units. This role manages multiple consumer insights projects, partnering closely with sales, marketing, and technology teams to drive strategic decisions, market success, and sustainable innovation. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader in consumer research, skilled in both qualitative and quantitative methods, and adept at translating complex data into actionable business insights. This position reports to the Head of the Global Research Team within Eastman's Corporate Strategy and Commercial Excellence Division.



This role is based in Kingsport, TN, with remote work flexibility for candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones. Up to 25% domestic and international travel is required to support research management and engage with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee multiple consumer insights projects from research consulting and design through execution, analysis, reporting, and presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Translate complex business challenges into clear research objectives and methodologies.
  • Synthesize large qualitative and quantitative data sets to extract actionable insights that drive business decisions and innovation.
  • Present insights effectively using compelling storytelling techniques to engage stakeholders and drive informed action.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, technology, and various business units to integrate consumer insights into strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate the consumer voice into key projects and market activation strategies.
  • Support Eastman's sustainability and circular economy initiatives through insights that guide product development and marketing strategies.
  • Stay current on industry and consumer trends relevant to Eastman's markets and share insights with internal teams.
  • Mentor and support analysts on the global research team, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (required).
  • Master's degree in market research, business administration, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in consumer insights or research roles either client or vendor side.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including advanced analytic techniques.
  • Experience with research software tools including SPSS and Qualtrics.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Proven ability to navigate and collaborate within large, matrixed organizations.
