Overview

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing the Digital Assets Operational Strategy for FTSE Russell globally. This position will work across the organization to create a cohesive Digital Asset Operational Strategy, including collaborating with Policy, Technology, Regulatory, Risk, Legal, Commercial, Product and Research teams to set strategic goals and coordinate implementation. Specifically, this includes leading and implementing the vetting methodology and data collection strategy to ensure single coordinated voice on digital asset data and index build and prioritization align to the return on investment strategy. The role also will include a cross divisional function to ensure FTSE Russell is aligned to the LSEG digital asset initiatives. The individual will also focus on facilitating the Sales Teams' engagement with clients as a subject matter authority on Digital Assets!

This position will also be responsible for handling all Digital Assets data requirements, including identifying data needs, finding solutions, and handling vendors and partners. The individual will work closely with the Product Manager who is responsible for delivery of the product roadmap. They will ensure the Product Team has a reliable base data set including ownership of the intellectual property of the Vetting Methodology which underpins FTSE Russell's Digital Asset offering.

The role will also include developing and implementing a long-term strategic plan on how to handle operational risk / opportunity of integrating digital asset technology in FTSE Russell's business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter authority for Digital Assets for FTSE Russell both internally and externally.

  • Authority of digital asset market data derived from Exchanges, GitHub and On-Chain data opportunities.

  • Understand where the Digital Asset market is moving and ensure FTSE Russell is positioned to participate in market share of these new market opportunities.

  • Drive operational efficiency through process improvement, automation, ensuring accuracy, relevance and aligned with regulatory requirements.

  • Be the authority on digital asset technology and how it impacts FTSE Russell's day to day business.

  • Identify new trends and opportunities in the Digital Asset space to help set product roadmaps.

  • Facilitate execution of strategic goals across teams.

  • Identify and find solutions to key risks in the emerging Digital Asset space.

  • Work closely with the Policy, Technology, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to ensure ongoing understanding of the changing regulatory landscape for digital assets.

  • Ownership of the FTSE Digital Asset Index operational strategy and execution,

  • Serve as an essential team member on the Digital Asset Operational Forum, Digital Asset Technical Forum, and Digital Asset External Advisory Committee.

  • Maximise our data vendors to ensure FTSE Russell is increasing the commercial opportunity in this fast-growing new market segment.

  • Act as a senior conduit for client and industry trends, market challenges, product development and client needs.

  • Lead discussions with ecosystem authorities, prospective clients, serving as the internal and external guide.

  • Collaborate with the product, research, partnerships, derivatives, governance and policy, sales strategy, operations, marketing, and other teams to solution and win deals.

  • Work closely with the Product Management team to facilitate the product line up and support the Digital Asset strategy.

  • Work with public relations and marketing to build the FTSE Russell brand in this new asset class.

  • Mentor colleagues across the organization.

  • Propose solutions and strategies for maximising the various LSEG verticals to build new Digital Asset solutions for clients.

Key Behaviors

This role requires digital asset subject matter expertise. The individual will need to have the following key attributes:

  • A minimum of 10 years serving institutional clients across multiple functions, with a minimum of 7 years working in the Digital Asset space

  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross functional teams including research, product, quant, legal, compliance and development roles

  • Established and confirmed relationships in the Digital Asset space

  • Proven record of building scalable products from scratch

  • Experience establishing and cultivating high profile client relationships through consultative client solutions

  • Detailed articulation of clients' needs with a talent for presenting sophisticated ideas and concepts in a concise manner

  • Acute attention to detail and interest in operating in a complex, fast-paced environment

  • High energy, passionate and energetic self-starter

  • Creative and curious problem solver with a hunger for Digital Asset knowledge

  • Index, analytics or asset management experience

  • Index product management/development experience

  • Aim to achieve business goals by solving sophisticated problems and taking a broad perspective to identify solutions

  • Excellent communicator

  • Ability to lead projects that require technical expertise and attention to detail while ensuring a big picture risk assessment is maintained

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $162,000 - $270,200. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/"bonus plan"). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
