Core Responsibilities

  • Performs work and ensures the work of others is performed in accordance with GMPs, Quality and Safety practices and proper work methods or procedures
  • Oversees production employees and leads by example
  • Executes daily production schedule and meets established goals
  • Reviews, evaluates, and coaches employees as necessary
  • Recommends personnel actions to management
  • Provides advice on production projects
  • Interpret and explain production goals and standards
  • Suggests and makes process corrections
  • Collaborates with maintenance, FSQA, and warehousing to ensure operational continuity
  • Takes and recommends alternative courses of action to solve problems
  • Actively engages in problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Offers innovative ideas and executes change
  • Keeps daily communication with Production Supervisors & Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • High School or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience, preferred.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions in English
  • Must complete all necessary training including in food safety, GMP, HACCP, and safety training such as Hazard Risk Analysis, Fire Safety, Machine Guarding, Emergency Preparedness, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, Ladder/Knife Safety, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, and L.O.T.O./Machine Specific training
  • Must adhere to PPE requirements: Proper Attire, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, and Steel Toe Shoes

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee should possess to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Work is performed indoors in a production facility exposed to the smell and dust of raw meat and spices as these are being blended into commercial formulas.
  • Work is performed in wet, humid, and cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees)
  • Perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
  • Climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
  • Bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
  • Walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
  • This work is physically demanding and can require the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Additional essential functions may be applicable to specific jobs.
