POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Technical Designer reports to the Design Manager
  • Located in Cleveland, OH
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid



The Technical Designer is responsible for commercial kitchen design, draft layouts, production drawings, and presentation drawings. This position is responsible for providing drawing support to Designers and Project Managers.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Produce construction documents and collaborate with architects and engineers for integration of foodservice equipment designs and utility rough-in drawings into overall project under the guidance of a project designer or project manager
  • Must be able to utilize AutoCad and/or Revit to coordinate with design team members
  • Must have sound technical understanding of plumbing and electrical systems and be able to identify and locate utility services and building conditions required for proper installation of foodservice equipment
  • Produce foodservice equipment elevations and incorporate appropriate construction details
  • Must be able to proactively communicate and manage lead times. It is essential that project needs are met timely
  • Attend job meetings with project designer or project manager when necessary
  • Learn TriMark's preferred vendors
  • Assist with specifying manufacturers
  • Expected to grow capabilities to perform position with greater efficiency annually.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relations with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel
  • Participate in department meetings and vendor training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

  • Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other trades on job sites
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with strong professional work ethic


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years in a professional or internship experience in an Interior Design, Architectural, Engineering, or Construction related field or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and MS Operating system with intermediate or better proficiency
  • Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment
  • Previous foodservice industry experience, preferred
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance

Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.


In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
