About the Team
The Platform Product team at Datavant is responsible for partnering with the Core Technology / Platform Engineer teams to build the technical foundations that accelerate our Product Engineering teams. We obsess about creating leverage for our developers and product development process; and achieve this by having a unique combination of: technical expertise, domain experience, and product-oriented thinking.
About the Role
As the Group Product Manager for Platform & Security, you will lead and mentor a team of product managers responsible for our core cloud infrastructure and for enabling our security programs. Acting as a player-coach, you will guide your team to deliver platform solutions that provide critical leverage, while also partnering closely with the Security organization to ensure the successful execution of their strategic initiatives. In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will initially act as the individual product manager for a high-priority initiative to consolidate our Single Sign-On (SSO) experience, a cornerstone of a broader Unified UX effort across the company. In this role you you will:
- Directly own and drive the product strategy and execution for the consolidation of our SSO experience, working with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless and secure user authentication journey.
- Lead the product management function for the cloud platform, while serving as a key partner to Security leadership to help drive and enable the execution of a cohesive strategy that tightly integrates security principles into the entire software development lifecycle.
- Guide your team in managing the product roadmap for the underlying cloud platform and in supporting the rollout and adoption of the security roadmap, ensuring deep alignment between Engineering and Security leaders.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including the CISO, to facilitate the success of security programs by translating strategic goals into clear, actionable product specifications and execution plans.
- Mentor and develop your product managers, empowering them to be decisive, customer-centric leaders who can solve complex developer problems and drive high-impact initiatives.
- Support the rollout, adoption, and enablement of security programs to ensure our products comply with relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and audits.
- Champion your team's work and the initiatives of your partners, communicating vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders at all levels to ensure requirements are deeply understood by all teams.
About You
- You have 8+ years of experience in product management or a related discipline, with a proven track record of leading and mentoring a team of product managers.
- You possess deep domain expertise that spans both modern cloud infrastructure ecosystems (e.g., Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD) and the operational dynamics of security programs.
- You are a strategic, systems-level thinker, capable of identifying key leverage points and understanding the systemic impact of your team's decisions across a complex technical and organizational landscape.
- You have a proven track record of developing and executing product strategy for internal, highly technical products, ideally in a regulated industry like healthcare where security and compliance are paramount.
- You are an exceptional communicator and influencer, able to articulate a compelling vision and build consensus among senior leaders, technical counterparts, and stakeholders across the company.
- You lead by example with a "no job is too small" attitude, demonstrating strong ownership, proactive problem-solving, and a relentless drive to get things done.
- You are a natural team player who excels at building strong relationships and understanding the motivations and needs of others to foster a collaborative and effective environment
