The Associate Principal works within and across the strategic consulting team to support consulting engagements by gathering and analyzing client and Press Ganey information, developing recommendations and creating presentations. Primary focus of this position is integrated consulting leadership and new business development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating a high degree of self-awareness and ability to accurately gauge others (internally and externally) to appropriately guide thinking and behavior, especially in difficult situations.
  • Serving as a role model for others.
  • Fostering an environment of innovation and change, communicating goals and strategies to team members and involving them in the changes.
  • Identifying and sourcing internal resources (i.e., information, expertise, products within and external to Strategic Consulting) critical to supporting client needs.
  • Persuading and influencing the actions of client C-suite leadership.
  • Negotiating and facilitating resolutions.
  • Expanding Strategic Consulting and Press Ganey relationships in the client organization.
  • Speaking and presenting in front of large audiences.
  • Strategizing with Consulting Team on engagement approach in all phases, facilitating improved communication and the management of engagement risks
  • Managing multiple client engagement priorities at once with fast-paced turnaround times.
  • Anticipating client challenges and communicate necessary mitigating strategies.
  • Reviewing and ensuring engagement plan and actual engagement delivers on client expectations around project activities, timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Ensuring appropriate staff assigned and resources are appropriately leveraged.
  • Leveraging project team member strengths to align with activities.
  • Overseeing client facing reports and deliverables.
  • Connecting and aligning products and methodologies across the service and product continuum (i.e., Press Ganey Integrated Subject Matter Expert).
  • Contributing to complex external content development and provides recommendations for future focus areas
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships throughout client organization including executive team and key domain influencers as well as lateral integrators
  • Maintaining ongoing relationships with client contacts post engagement
  • Actively seeking opportunities to connect Press Ganey Subject Matter Experts (internal and external to Consulting) across service lines/solution areas with the appropriate executives at the client to expand the footprint at the client.
  • Building the strength of the team by delegating both routine and important tasks and decisions; Mentors team members to develop skills
  • Taking the long view in business expansion opportunities, laying a foundation for ongoing or complementary work.
  • Leading scope development within primary solution area including pricing.
  • Leveraging understanding of key market drivers to create and drive new business opportunities to support incremental closed sales.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's required/Master's preferred
  • 10+ years relevant Industry experience in healthcare with oversight of customer experience efforts
  • Advanced skills in MS Office products to support document preparation.
  • Direct experience leading Patient Experience strategies required.
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to positively interact with and influence execs, providers and staff at all levels.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Significant knowledge of healthcare industry and market trends
  • Preferred experience in consulting; leadership a plus.
  • Travel of up to 75%.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $127,000to $195,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
