OVERVIEW
This key Engineering talent oversees electrical infrastructure projects and guiding local EEs on maintenance and inspection routines across ASR North American sites. Primary responsibilities include providing guidance on routine inspection and maintenance of 4160V/480V power distribution systems, tracking progress against completion schedules, and the development & execution plan for large scale capital projects.
The ideal candidate has experience as a field technician working with 4160V and 480V switchgear and is capable of executing various capital improvements via internal and contract engineers. This person will support all five North American refineries, ensuring consistent practices are being executed across the group.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as subject matter expert on electrical engineering driving execution approach. Set best practices across the enterprise and develop plans for implementation of these as identified
- Manages project coordination, prioritization and adherence to construction means and methods, assure execution of engineering and Food Safety design standards
- Execute substation improvement projects via internal resource and managing external contract engineer/managers
- Assist the refineries in application of switchgear maintenance plans
- Develop inspection and maintenance standards in accordance with NFPA 70B
- Guide the local plant EEs to develop achievable schedules
- Witness sample inspections & maintenance to ensure quality control
- Log equipment inspection completion dates for corporate auditing purposes
- Provide site Operations with guidance on long-term capital investment needs and perform gap analysis
- Develop SOWs for project and maintenance work
- Hold project design reviews with engineering and operations partners
- Liaise with Procurement on contractor recommendation, lead bid-walks, review proposals, and provide input into contract award
- Ensure contractors work in accordance with all safety requirements and meet electrical and food manufacturing installation standards
- Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts - Safety, Quality, and Operations to assure full cross functional partner's alignment
WORK EXPERIENCES
- 10+ years' experience working with 4160V/480V power distribution systems required
- Previous experience inspecting and maintaining switchgear required
- Power generation experience preferred
- Previous experience with food manufacturing companies preferred
- Relay management experience a plus
- Prior demonstrated experience as project manager on capital projects up to $1mm a plus
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required from an ABET accredited university
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- Detailed knowledge of power distribution systems required, knowledge of PLCs and automation preferred
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills
- Strong people skills with the ability to influence others on electrical infrastructure
- Proficient level project management skills: PMP or equivalent experience preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel to other manufacturing sites within North America, vendor facilities, construction sites, etc.
LOCATION OF ROLE
- Remote, Northeast preferred, Baltimore or New Orleans area a plus
- Travel of 2-3 nights every other week is required - the ideal candidate would live in proximity to an airport hub
SALARY PAY RANGE: $93,000-$172,500
The expected pay range for this position is $93,000-$172,500 and will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
