The Geomatics team is seeking a Renewable Energy/Transportation Project Manager in Denver, CO.

DEA is seeking a remote or hybrid Renewable Energy & Transportation Survey Project Manager to join our Mountain West Region team based from our Denver, Colorado office. The primary focus of this position is to bring outstanding professional service to new and existing clients by pursuing, managing, and delivering exceptional quality survey projects that are on time and on budget. Duties will include writing proposals, developing and managing project budgets and schedules, and managing all aspects of our land surveying services including project control/network adjustments, boundary breakdown and analysis, ALTA/NSPS survey generation, development of right of way (ROW) plan sets, acquisition exhibits and legal descriptions, etc.

DEA is dedicated to utilizing the latest in technology and our crews have access to a wide range of both conventional and innovative geospatial tools including GPS, robotic total stations, terrestrial laser scanning, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), mobile mapping systems, and hydrographic mapping systems, for use across diverse project types.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Project Manager for projects in the renewable energy sector such as wind, solar, battery, and transmission line surveys, as well as in the transportation sector for Departments of Transportation (DOT) and Local Agencies (LA).

  • Act as the Geomatics Client Team Representative on internal DEA Client Teams.

  • Follow DEA's proven marketing strategies to help maintain and develop client relationships.

  • Work with the Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to ensure field and office resources are available for both existing project work as well as future opportunities.

  • Provide land surveying leadership and guidance to Geomatics staff.

  • Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including project accounting, contracting, and quality requirements.

  • Prepare proposals, develop and manage project budgets, and adhere to schedules.

  • QA/QC oversight.

  • Coordinate with other DEA disciplines and clients.

  • Support recruiting and retention efforts to ensure DEA hires the best possible talent and encourages staff longevity.

  • Direct field and office staff in the performance of their duties, while mentoring and coaching them to successfully advance within the survey profession.

What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Licensed/Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS/RPLS) in New Mexico and Oklahoma; Texas and Colorado are a bonus.

  • Experience delivering projects for DOTs, LAs, and renewable energy developers/EPC contractors.

  • Capable of self-managing projects, communicating well with clients, and mentoring junior-level staff members.

  • Strong computer skills with CAD and land surveying software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation Open Roads, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Able to work well in a team environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Leadership skills for mentoring and leading staff on geospatial techniques and principles.
