POSITION SUMMARY: Direct daily maintenance and electrical teams to ensure proper repairs and reliability of the plants processing equipment. Support the departments vision of proactive maintenance through safety, training, intra-department collaborations and ensuring high quality repairs. Interact with the production teams to provide good communication and service s that the plant can operate at the highest level of efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: Direct entire Maintenance of mobile, electrical and plant processing equipment to meet short-and long-range objectives with optimum efficiency.
- Assist in the planning of maintenance budgets through the identification of plant opportunities.
- Ensure project standards and guidelines are applied and adhered to as established.
- Focus on productivity improvements, and root cause analysis to attain cost optimization.
- Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained and documented.
- Write and implement preventative maintenance work orders directed at data development for MTBF and other analyses of plant efficiency.
- Develop and implement improved maintenance processes aimed at optimizing the overall productivity of the plant.
- Coordinates with Maintenance Planner and Store Specialist to assess priorities and urgency of maintenance orders. Assist in the development of the daily/weekly maintenance schedules.
- Establish processes for SAP including training of team members.
- Ensure work is completed to the project standards and guidelines.
- Follow spares management best practices.
- Maintain department budget targets.
- Responsible for daily meetings with production for planning and scheduling of maintenance opportunities.
- Foster continuous improvement on equipment with maintenance team.
- Oversee contractor activities.
Leadership and development of electricians and mechanics
- Be a positive leader that encourages cross-functional communication.
- Track Key Performance indicators to measure progress of goals.
- Drive culture change from reactive to pro-active in the approach to asset management and reliability.
- Provide feedback to direct reports on daily projects.
- Ensure proper motivation of employees through coaching, delegation, and follow up to suggestion and ideas.
- Provide feedback to direct reports and of those managed.
- Assists in achieving plant operations profit plan
Safety
- Demonstrate environmental and safety regulatory leadership. Support Environmental Health and Safety initiatives and awareness programs.
- Ensure team members have a clear understanding of expected safety performance
ATTRIBUTES:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical power infrastructure and process control systems up to 480 volts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve, repair electrical motor circuit controls and instrumentation control loops, PLC logic, and programming.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of budget process is strongly preferred.
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.
- Knowledge in SAP and ability to generate required Key Performance Indicator reports in Business Workshop Module in SAP.
- Demonstrated supervisory leadership experience.
- Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the limestone industry.
- Forward looking, action-oriented, team player that works well with cross functional groups.
- Ability to understand and analyze key business driver, develop action plans, and execute improvements.
- Ability to multi-task, with excellent organizational and communication skills, proven problem-solving skills, and can think "outside the box".
- Must be capable of working shift work, overtime, seven days, or holidays, if needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Able to lift over 50 pounds.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Associates Degree with strong Electrical, PLC control, Mechanical Maintenance Background, or equivalent practical experience with strong electrical, plc control, and mechanical maintenance background.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Engineering Systems
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years in a maintenance supervisor / maintenance lead role or similar function in mining or mineral processing
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years in a maintenance supervisor role in mining or mineral processing industry
