Job Summary

This role covers the design, layout, simulation of test equipment for the analysis of fluid rocketry components. It consists of both the development of overall requirements, selection of COT's hardware, and the assembly/validation of sensor components for use in testing electro-turbo rocketry pumps with water as an analog fluid.

Essential Job Duties
  • Development of overall requirements and performance goals (10%)
  • Design/general high level layout of test stand components (20%)
  • Simulation/modeling of anticipated performance (20%)
  • Selection of COT's hardware (sensors, flow effectors, etc.) (20%)
  • Assembly and validation of test devices (30%)
Basic Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with fluid systems.
  • Introductory Physics/Fluid dynamics experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, Arduino C, and MATLAB.
  • Experience in CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with fluid system design specifically for rocketry components (High flow rate/high performance considerations).
  • Experience with application of Physics/Fluid dynamics experience towards design of real-world applications.
  • Familiarity with DFM (Design for manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with pump-specific requirements (FOD control, in-line process measurements).
  • Experience with integrated electronics/flow systems design.

Hiring Range

$18.50 - $21.25 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
