ATI is seeking to hire a Laboratory Process Leader to support our Specialty Rolled Products sample-preparation laboratory in Washington, PA. This position will be focused on the efficiency of test sample flow, management of external vendors and testing cost, and leading efforts to reduce turnaround times. They will also be responsible for coordinating the material certification process to ensure that business deadlines are met. Directing material flow, expedition, and laboratory process leadership will be the main focus of this role. Essential Job Duties
- Direct prep lab employees, including scheduling/prioritization of work and track flow of material through the prep lab.
- Perform material certifications across all product lines.
- Coordinate testing between ATI and third party labs to ensure adherence to operating plan while minimizing testing costs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise with the flow of test samples.
- Verify, update and optimize test lotting to meet customer orders for certification.
- Support development and review of customer specifications and society specifications for testing requirements.
- Ensure PO's are current and up to date for outside testing vendors.
- Ensure safety and housekeeping procedures are adhered to.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Computer experience and working knowledge with Microsoft Office Software - Outlook, Word, Excel, and job/company related systems.
- Highly motivated with exceptional ability to collect, organize, analyze and report data.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines is essential.
- Ability to make decisions with excellent leadership qualities.
- Prior machine shop experience.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and to independently solve problems related to project assignments with metals, materials, etc.
- Ability to interpret regulations, company practices, procedures and union contract agreement
- Ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers at all levels.
