ABOUT THE JOB

This role is responsible for executing training and leading project management efforts to ensure operational effectiveness at new acquisitions and existing Hawkins branches. This role will lead WTG branch efficiency optimization, and technical training development projects. Additionally, this role will serve as an on-demand driver for acquisitions to ensure customers continue to receive products throughout the acquisition transition period.

This versatile role within the WTG organization is responsible for training and may temporarily perform the duties of a Branch Manager, Technical Sales Rep (Route Sales Drivers) or Warehouse Associate. Effectively leading people through change will determine your success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Assessment



  • Assess target location's business operations, processes, systems, compliance, and talent.
  • Identify and document strengths, opportunities, and risks.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify priorities and create an action plan to increase compliance and efficiency.
  • Lead the execution of improvements in partnership with cross-functional departments to meet action plan timelines while meeting customer needs.


Training



  • Facilitate on-the-job training for new employees, address skill gaps, and elevate location practices to Hawkins standards.
  • Periodically review training materials and suggest enhancements to maintain relevance and compliance.
  • Partner with peers, other subject matter experts across WTG, HSE and HR as needed.
  • Use the Adult Learning Principles, SODOTO, and other learning methods to ensure training effectiveness.


Manage Change



  • Practice effective Change management techniques to ensure organizations and individuals adopt Hawkins Water Treatment Group processes, technology, and culture
  • Lead efforts to proactively identify and address challenges associated with integration, manage resistance, and minimize disruption.
  • Appropriately escalate areas of risk that may disrupt business growth, and employee and customer engagement.
  • Proactively partner with other departments to coordinate efforts and align consistent communications.
  • Leverage your network across Hawkins to help newly acquired teams navigate new systems and processes.


Technical Sales Rep/Warehouse Associate Duties



  • Be available as an on-demand delivery driver in Class B trucks from any of the Hawkins locations or acquisitions sites that may have a temporary shortage of drivers.
  • Monitor inventory transactions, reconcile physical inventories, and provide recommendations for improving accuracy.


          ABOUT YOU:



          • 2+ years of experience managing a branch
          • 2+ years of experience facilitating technical training
          • High School Diploma required
          • Proven track record of DOT, Safety, OSHA compliance
          • Must meet, follow and maintain DOT standards for truck drivers
          • Maintain Class B CDL and hazardous materials, airbrakes and tanker endorsements
          • Highly proficient in the day-to-day functions of managing a Water Treatment branch
          • Detailed knowledge in chemicals and chemical feed equipment, Hawkins systems, sales, and services
          • Route sales knowledge/experience required
          • Proficient in adult learning and change management practices

          PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



          • Very heavy work including exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
          • Ability to lift over 50 pounds regularly, 75 lbs. occasionally.
          • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
          • Ability to regularly climb in and out of truck cab and onto and off the truck gate
          • Ability to safely operate a forklift and commercial vehicle that transports chemicals including hazardous chemicals.
          • Ability to communicate via spoken word and hear at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
          • Requires fine motor skills including the ability to grasp and work with tools.
          • Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
          • Ability to work in a variety of weather and environmental conditions.


          TRAVEL

          Travel up to +70%

          Expected Compensation: $95,000-$110,000/ year. + 10% bonus eligibility
