Position description

Associate Specialist - Spitzer lab

The Spitzer Lab in the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery is now recruiting an Associate Specialist. The responsibilities of this position include:



  • Perform in vivo experiments in mouse models of cancer.
  • Analyze immune cells and stromal cells by flow cytometry and related techniques.
  • Lead an independent research project in the field of cancer biology and cancer immunology.
  • Prepare scientific manuscripts for preparation.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications.


Required Qualifications:



  • Master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
  • Experience in the field of cancer-associated fibroblast biology.
  • Experience in the field of cancer immunology.
  • Experience with mouse models of cancer.
  • Extensive expertise in flow cytometry.
  • Experience leading and completing an independent research project.
  • Scientific manuscript preparation.
  • Experience preparing grant applications.


See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $75,600 - $88,000.
