From your PASSION to ours

Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Sales Analyst Distribution Intern based in Buffalo, New York.

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented intern to support the Distribution and Non-Commercial Sales teams at Lactalis Culinary. This full-time, one-year hybrid internship offers a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with Trade Marketing, Sales, and Marketing teams while gaining hands-on experience in trade spend analysis, sales support, data reporting, and project management. The intern will act as a critical liaison between our fully remote Corporate Accounts Sales team and our main office, with exposure to customer-facing activities and internal strategic initiatives. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

1. Data Analytics

  • Analyze and validate complex trade claims and sales data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Design and maintain visual dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI to share key insights across teams.
  • Track and assess marketing initiative performance, delivering ROI analysis that influences future strategy.

2. Revenue Management

  • Partner with the Trade Marketing (Revenue Management) team to monitor and evaluate trade spend across Distribution and Non-Commercial channels.
  • Investigate and resolve trade spend discrepancies, pricing misalignments, and claim processing issues.
  • Build, interpret, and present profit & loss (P&L) statements to assess business performance and support strategic planning.
  • Help ensure revenue goals are met by aligning team actions with budgetary targets.

3. Sales Support

  • Serve as a key connector between the remote Corporate Accounts sales team and headquarters, ensuring consistent communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with third-party brokers, zone managers, the Distribution team, and Non-Commercial sales to support pricing analysis, claims resolution, and sales execution.
  • Develop strong knowledge of Lactalis Culinary's product portfolio, go-to-market strategy, and sales priorities to support effective customer, broker, and internal team engagement.
  • Occasionally reach out to prospective and existing customers to identify new sales opportunities and gather market insights.

4. Project-Based Assignments

  • Optimize execution of existing marketing partnerships by identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements.
  • Leverage internal and external insights to streamline workflows and enhance marketing effectiveness.
  • Lead or support special projects, including performance recaps, sales reporting, and cross-functional initiatives that align with broader business goals.
Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Will possess a bachelor's degree or in college working on a master's degree. Will have strong business acumen in the areas of Sale and Finance, a solid understanding of corporate and general business principles and practices, have a high competency in Excel, Microsoft Power Bi and PowerPoint, and be able to perform complicated tasks within these programs. Will also have knowledge and expertise in Word.
