Provost/Dean of Faculty Job Description

This isa 1-year fixed-term position with the possibility for extension

Job Summary

The accreditation assistant will support Smith's reaccreditation self- study and NECHE team visit. They will gather and organize information in support of Smith's NECHE self study and will populate the NECHE workroom with required documentation, including syllabi, faculty CVs, and other institutional materials, in addition to providing backfill for the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty, all under the supervision of the Director of Academic Operations/Special Advisor to the Provost. Upon completion of the self-study, they will provide logistic support for the team visit and will assist in responding to the visiting team's recommendations in areas under the purview of the Provost. They will act as a resource to the director to handle ad hoc projects and short-term requests that can free the director to focus on accreditation project management.

Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.

Essential Functions:

Workroom Development (40%):

  • The accreditation assistant will gather, prepare, and audit the completeness of materials in Smith's electronic workroom for the 2027 NECHE accreditation review team visit.

Project Management Support to the Director (20%):

  • The accreditation assistant will provide project management assistance to the Director, including tracking due dates, recording project progress, and following up on deliverables.

Committee Support (20%):

  • The accreditation assistant will support the Assessment Steering Committee and the NECHE working group, tracking project status, schedule meetings, take meeting notes, reserve spaces, and will track and follow up on project milestones.

PDOF backfill (20%):

The accreditation assistant will provide general administrative support for PDOF office staff when engaged in NECHE related duties, and will complete other PDOF ad hoc projects assigned by the director.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, certifications, licenses, knowledge, skills)

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience

Skills

Evidence of the ability to juggle multiple priorities, solve problems creatively, maintain confidentiality, improvise and gather complex resources to address short-term needs is required. They will have experience coordinating meetings or events, using google drive, creating spreadsheets, conducting mail merges, and writing business documents, in addition to having familiarity with Workday.
