The Opportunity:
Avantor is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to work with business leaders on select projects and productivity process improvements that align with business goals and strategies.
The Sr. Process Engineer uses analytical and industrial engineering methods and tools to understand, predict, improve, create and/or control logistics operations and processes.
** T his is a full-time virtual/remote position with travel up to 25% as needed.
** Must be able to travel onsite weekly (when needed) to nearby Avantor distribution centers to include those located in: Suwanee, GA; Visalia, CA; Bridgeport, NJ; Batavia, IL; Aurora, CO; Rochester, NY; Aurora, OH; Missouri City, TX; Devens, MA .

How you will thrive and create an impact:

  • Responsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support logistics management.
  • Clarify and resolve complex business issues.
  • Manage data through data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping and/or problem analysis.
  • Perform research and benchmarking on industry best practices related to warehousing and transportation.
  • Systematically interact with process owners and users to obtain feedback and to verify performance.
  • Manage the optimization of resources and processes in compliance with company policies/procedures.
  • Write SOPs and training documents to establish standard work and develop initial documents for new processes and systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: College Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of directly applicable experience in a similar position.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • SAP EWM experience desired.
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word.
  • Knowledge and successful implementation of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methods and Lean Logistics required.
  • Requires excellent project and people management skills and a strong understanding of logistics.
  • Ability to motivate associates using effective interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and able to manage vendor/business relationships.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, problem identification and resolution skills.

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Although the associate primarily works in an office environment, while performing the duties of this job, the associate can be exposed to an industrial warehouse environment. The associate may work near moving mechanical machinery and/or vehicles and the noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$85,000.00 - $141,600.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
