About the Role

The Sr. Specialist, Rail Operations sits on the logistics team and plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining Primient' s railcar fleet, ensuring seamless operations through the daily monitoring of maintenance statuses and coordinating mobile repair requests to minimize disruptions. This role directly impacts the company's logistics performance by maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency and supporting timely deliveries. By overseeing lessor communications and ensuring prompt processes for invoices, the Sr. Specialist, Rail Operations helps optimize fleet management costs and ensures compliance with lease agreements.

Key responsibilities:

* Prepare Monthly Cost Reporting: Prepare and distribute the Monthly Cost Report for the rail fleet, providing financial transparency and supporting budget management with detailed expense analysis.
* Process Invoices for Railcar Lessors: Accurately process and pay invoices from railcar lessors in accordance with contract terms, ensuring compliance and fostering strong vendor relationships.
* Manage RAS Data Services Invoice: Validate and process monthly invoices from RAS Data Services, ensuring timely payments and adherence to service agreements.
* Coordinate Railcar Repairs: Monitor and manage railcars out of service for maintenance, ensuring swift coordination with repair locations to minimize downtime and uphold fleet reliability.
* Procure Railcar Parts: Coordinate the timely procurement of railcar parts for plants and contracted maintenance teams, ensuring an uninterrupted supply to support ongoing operations and repairs.
* Analyze Rail Fleet Data: Analyze rail fleet data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction or improvement.

Required and Preferred Education/Certification

* Bachelors in Logistics, Supply-chain management, or equivalent work experience (preferred)

Required and Preferred Work Experience

* 2-3 years experience in data collection, trend analysis, and performance evaluation (required)
* 1-2 years experience in Power BI or Tableau for creating reports and dashboards (preferred)
* 1-2 years experience with logistics networks and rail-specific industry practices (preferred)
* 1-2 years experience cost monitoring, forecasting, and budgeting for rail fleet operations (preferred)
5+ years experience
Total RewardsThe annual pay range estimated for this position is $73,049.60 - $91,312.00 and is bonus eligible.

Please note that while this range reflects the full spectrum of compensation available for this role, individual compensation will be determined based on several factors including your experience, skills, and alignment with the role's responsibilities. During the interview process there will be an opportunity to discuss how your background fits into the pay range.
