Wire Harness Design Release Engineer

The Power and Signal Distribution (PASD) PI Release Engineer will be responsible for the design and release of wiring harness assemblies and related components. The Engineer will coordinate drawing creation in both 2D Capital XC and 3D CAD release in Teamcenter (NX) and validation of released components in the vehicle and component environments. The engineer will support vehicle manufacturing/supplier facilities for entire life cycle, manage plant design issues along with change requests from both the plant and suppliers. The engineer will manage large amounts of data/changes that must be incorporated into the current/future designs.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree field.
  • Excellent communication skills that include writing, creation and presentation of management level high quality presentation materials and reports.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree field.
  • Training in DFMEA DVP&R and DFSS development tools and processes.
  • 3 years of transportation wiring design and release experience or vehicle electrical system experience.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems (NX, Catia).
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems (Capital XC).
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing facilities along with knowledge of wiring manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with wiring harness drawings and specifications for automotive applications.
  • Web publishing and familiarity with SharePoint data management environments.
