Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a Contingency Planner to support the Future Planning Unit by synthesizing data from multiple technical teams and drafting actionable contingency plans. This position requires strong analytical skills and a collaborative approach to integrate information from the Situation Unit, Meteorology Unit, and GIS Unit into future-focused planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Provide planning support to the Future Planning Unit

  
  

• 
  

  Work closely with the Situation, Meteorology, and GIS Units to synthesize modeling and information

  
  

• 
  

  Draft and update contingency plans based on current and forecasted data

  
  

• 
  

  Develop planning scenarios to support strategic decision-making

  
  

• 
  

  Ensure contingency plans align with operational priorities and the Incident Action Plan (IAP)

  
  

• 
  

  Participate in planning meetings and briefings

  
  

• 
  

  Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to validate planning assumptions

  
  

Basic Qualifications:

• 
  

  3+ years of experience in a contingency or emergency planning role

  
  

• 
  

  Strong analytical and writing skills

  
  

• 
  

  Familiarity with ICS structure and emergency management principles

  
  

• 
  

  Ability to interpret modeling and forecast data

  
  

• 
  

  Must be a U.S. citizen

  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  

  Experience working with emergency operations centers or planning sections

  
  

• 
  

  Knowledge of GIS, meteorological tools, or situational analysis software

  
  

• 
  

  FEMA ICS-300/400 certifications

Working Environment:

Work is performed in Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), field environments, or remote coordination centers. Extended hours and travel may be required across the continental United States and its territories during emergency activations.
