Job Title: Field Safety Professional - Data Center Construction

Position Overview:

The Field Safety Professional will be an essential member of the on-site safety team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices throughout the construction of a hyper-scaled data center. The role will involve close interaction with site leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring that all safety procedures are adhered to and promoting a culture of safety across the job site. This position will be fully on-site near Amarillo, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Dedicate a minimum of 80% of time to observing and correcting field safety conditions, conducting safety audits, and coaching craft personnel on best safety practices



  • Actively engage with all employees to promote safe behaviors and improve workplace safety conditions



  • Cultivate an injury- and accident-free work environment by anticipating, identifying, evaluating, and correcting hazardous conditions



  • Provide new employee orientation and construction safety training programs; document and maintain training records



  • Conduct and document safety inspections and report any safety violations or hazardous conditions to the Supervisor for immediate correction



  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, owner specifications, and company safety policies/procedures



  • Respond to any injury, incident, or near-miss on-site, documenting findings and assisting with incident analysis and follow-up actions



  • Perform industrial hygiene monitoring and maintain necessary records



  • Maintain clear and effective communication (verbal, written, and electronic) across all teams and stakeholders




Skills & Qualifications:




  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or a related field is preferred



  • Certifications: OSHA 500 certification for construction, Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred



  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of construction safety-related experience



  • Technical Skills:




    • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices



    • Proficient in field observations, safety interactions, and behavioral interventions



    • Experience in safety training, including contractor orientations



    • Familiar with hazard communication programs and the Globally Harmonized System (GHS)



    • First Aid/CPR/AED certified



    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)





  • Other Skills:




    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills



    • Ability to work effectively in both indoor and outdoor environments, including active construction sites



    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively in diverse settings



    • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations



    • Self-starter, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision






Physical and Mental Requirements:




  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites



  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and inspect confined or underground spaces



  • Must be able to lift or manipulate up to 50 pounds and carry or push it 50-100 feet



  • Must possess close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus in an outdoor construction environment



  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and crawl frequently to examine project work and monitor safety conditions



  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate extended hours or off-shift work as needed by construction schedules




Compensation & Benefits:




  • Salary: $77,000 to $88,400 per year DOE



  • Bonus Package: Available



  • Per Diem: $160 per day for assignments 50+ miles away



  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package
