Summary:

The SUD Manager is responsible for coordinating the Pathways Addiction Counseling Services (PACS) which includes outpatient substance use counseling, the intensive outpatient program, and the medication assisted treatment services.

Responsibilities:

Develops and oversees the service workflow for client intake, assessment, treatment planning, care coordination, and discharge, ensuring timeliness for meeting certification and licensing standards.

Coordinates system for communication and integration of SUD treatment components (i.e., counseling, IOP, withdrawal management, medically assisted treatment) according to best practices.

Ensures that required screenings and assessments of clients are completed through the person-centered treatment planning process, assisting and training as needed; uses information to assist staff in determining client goals and needed services.

Supports the substance use services for clients with serious mental illnesses who are on ACT or ICTT teams, ensuring training and implementation of SUD evidence based practices.

Supports PACS staff in implementing identified evidence-based practices or treatment options associated with substance use disorders and integrating them into their individual practices.

Supports SUD staff in identifying resources, natural supports, and developing goals and objectives to use them effectively.

Implements strategies for engaging families in treatment and involvement in supporting the client.

Establishes relationships and communicates with other providers for care coordination, particularly health care providers.

Oversees the discharging of clients to ensure that they have appropriate services in place to maintain their progress.

Provides supervision to staff that includes coordinating team conferencing, department and agency meetings.

Maintains detailed, accurate, and timely documentation in health record.

Enhances and maintains professional expertise through educational activities and trainings.

Ensures that staff meet their requirements for required data collection, client contact time according to treatment plan, and for agency productivity targets.

Completes administrative tasks of approving payroll, mileage, benefit time, etc.

Follows agency policies and standards for client rights and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in a clinical field preferred (mental health, social work, marriage/family therapy)

Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (LCDP) required (or if masters, LMHC, LICSW, LMFT)

At least 3 years experience working with in a behavioral health or human service setting.

Experience in developing and/or coordinating programming with the substance use population.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of human development and family systems issues.

Understanding of mental health and substance use diagnoses

Knowledge of community resources for clients and families with behavioral health disorders.

Advocacy and coaching skills.

Valid driver's license and use of in order to perform the major functions of the job.

Automobile liability insurance coverage for vehicle being used in accordance with Center requirements.

Ability to work collaboratively as a team to coordinate care for clients with intensive behavioral health needs.
