OpenText System Architect Job Summary B&A is seeking an experienced OpenText System Architect (Systems Integration Architect) to lead the design, integration, and management of large-scale, automated enterprise content management (ECM) systems in complex Health IT environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical and leadership expertise in OpenText Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center, combined with a strong understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) systems integration and cybersecurity compliance. This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on technical implementation capabilities to support mission-critical DoD healthcare systems. Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and integration of enterprise-level OpenText ECM solutions in Health IT environments.
- Develop scalable, secure solutions that align with enterprise strategies and DoD system requirements.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, best practices, and governance for system integration and content lifecycle management.
- Serve as the technical authority on all aspects of OpenText product implementation, configuration, and optimization, including Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center.
- Supervise and mentor development and system integration teams, providing guidance on architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and sustainment.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards, including secure system design and data protection practices.
- Work with program managers, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead solution assessments, feasibility studies, and analysis of alternatives to support technology recommendations.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans to support system accreditation and ongoing operations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in Health IT and automated enterprise content management systems.
Required Skills
- CISSP certification (required).
- OpenText certification in Content Server or AppWorks (required).
- Proven experience architecting and integrating large DoD systems with multiple software components.
- Demonstrated technical management and supervisory experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience implementing OpenText ECM products, including Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) health IT systems such as AHLTA, HAIMS, or MHS GENESIS.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF).
- Experience working with integration and workflow tools, data migration processes, and enterprise automation platforms.
- Understanding of agile and DevSecOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab, Jenkins).
- Strong understanding of interoperability standards, web services (REST/SOAP), and SOA architectures.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable technical solutions.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
