Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Physician

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Physician to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.

• This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%

• This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

• Contact with vulnerable populations that are non-minors (does not pertain to physicians/providers who work with minors): This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

• Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), or Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

• Clinical expectations include providing clinical care at American Family Children's Hospital for pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions, with a focus on stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies.

• Participate in clinical teaching of fellows, residents and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.

• Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Transplant & Cellular Therapy provides innovative, comprehensive, and compassionate family-centered clinical care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with primary hematologic or oncologic disorders. Division members believe excellence in clinical care is dependent upon research and teaching, and they embrace their complete integration through all aspects of this program. Major advances in childhood cancer treatment have resulted from well-designed clinical trials, and this program offers access to cutting-edge treatments by writing its own institutional clinical trials based on the research and data that its own researchers have discovered, in addition to participating in multi-institutional group trials. Beyond the performance of clinical and research work, division members share responsibility for the training of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Madison is the second largest city in the state, with a city population of approximately 280,000 and a regional population of over 1 million. The city is within easy driving distance of Chicago and Milwaukee. Madison's technology economy is growing rapidly, and the region is home to the headquarters of Epic Systems, Exact Sciences, and Promega, as well as many biotech, health care IT, and health systems startups. • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology through the American Board of Pediatrics, is required by the appointment start date.

• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is required by the appointment start date.

• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required.

• The candidate is required to have a Wisconsin medical license by the appointment start date.

• Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges by the appointment start date.

• Additional time and/or experience in clinical stem cell transplant and/or cellular therapy fellowship is preferred by the appointment start date.

• ASSOCIATE AND PROFESSOR CHS or CT RANK: For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CHS or CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT Track.
