Pelican is seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join our Product Development team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Product Development, the Product Manager will be instrumental in planning and executing the timelines and milestones for new product launches in lighting manufacturing. This role will involve coordinating cross-functional teams based on skill sets, driving them through the development process, and ensuring successful product launches. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex programs.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules, timelines, and milestones for new product launches.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, operations, marketing, and sales, ensuring optimal alignment based on skill sets.
  • Lead and drive teams through the product development process, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among US and overseas team members.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, adjusting as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research and Development, and Product Marketing to align program goals with organizational objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency in project management practices.
  • Align with C-Suite on regular monthly status updates.
  • Additional Duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management, preferably within a consumer-based product development environment.


  • Experience in lighting manufacturing, including LED technologies, optics, thermal management, drivers, and controls (wired/wireless).
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional programs from ideation to commercialization.


  • Strong understanding of product development stages and working with overseas and US manufacturing.


  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Agile, Waterfall, Stage-Gate).
  • Demonstrated success in risk management, stakeholder alignment, and delivering on high-visibility, high-impact initiatives.


  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.

  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalU.S. geographic markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The annual U.S. pay range for this positionis listed below. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
