Rutgers Global serves as a gateway to leveraging programs in the international and global arenas across the university and ensuring that they are delivered at the highest level of excellence. Rutgers Global is comprised of the following units: Study Abroad, International Student and Scholar Services, Global Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, and the Office of Vice President. Rutgers Global initiates new programs, strategic partnerships and services, and builds on the substantial scholarly resources already invested in the international programs at Rutgers to create a new focus for sharing resources, ideas, and research opportunities.

GPSI enhances Rutgers' global engagement through strategic partnerships, faculty and research collaborations, student engagement and enrollment initiatives, and cross-cultural programming. Its work spans multiple schools, departments, and administrative units, all aimed at strengthening Rutgers' global presence and impact.
As Rutgers prioritizes global engagement to advance university-wide enrollment and retention goals, GPSI is strategically focusing on initiatives that enhance student success, expand international partnerships, and support experiential learning opportunities. Additionally, with Rutgers' emphasis on key markets such as China, India, South Korea, and Ghana, GPSI must ensure appropriate resource allocation and personnel support to effectively manage high-priority projects.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator II for Rutgers Global.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Global Affairs, the incumbent will provide administrative and logistical support for key programs and initiatives within Global Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives ( GPSI) at Rutgers Global.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Plays a critical role in advancing GPSI's mission by providing administrative and logistical support for short-term visit programs, on-campus programming and events, front desk operations, and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures efficient program execution, seamless coordination, and effective engagement with international partners, faculty, and students.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses

  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with faculty, students, and foreign visitors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Aptitude for working effectively within a team environment while performing initiatives independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foreign language knowledge.
  • Familiarity with RU campus systems and Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint, desktop publishing and etc.), communications, and business systems.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working in the field of international education, student affairs, event planning, etc.

Special Conditions

  • This is a fully in-person position.
  • Must be available to work on some evenings and weekends; incumbent should expect to work roughly 1-2 evenings per week during the academic year and on occasional weekends.
