Job Overview

The primary responsibilities for this position will be to organize all aspects of Special character and Banner Carrier costumes for Macy's Events and to coordinate all sewing, alterations and refurbishment needs for the overall costume operation at large. Additionally, this role assists with special character casting and HR communication information between actors and Macy' 3^rd party HR agency.

What You Will Do

• Organize all aspects of Special Character and Banner Carrier costumes for Macy's Parade and other events as needed.
• Organize recruitment of entire Special Character program including HR onboarding and follow up of Special Character one-time payees with Macy's 3^rd party HR agency, for parade and other events.
• Maintain and organize sewing area, including ordering supplies and maintaining machines.
• Organize and execute all sewing, alterations and refurbishments for overall costume operation as needed based on priority and budget.
• Attend Fittings and rehearsals as needed.
• Assist with costume coordination for other events, such as Mayor's party, Breakfast with Santa, Holiday window unveiling, Flower Show, Fireworks, etc.
• Organize costume character trunk deliveries and returns, to and from Sponsors for Macy's Events.
• Successfully lead a team of dressers for load in, event day OPs and load out.
• Maintain all inventories and shipping/receiving logs for the special Character /Banner Carrier areas.
• Assist with all load in/load out activities and event set up/strike with Costume shop manager for including parade day, laundry processes and all other events.
• Serve as consultant to new clown program coordinator as needed.
• Exhibit excellent "customer service" skills with all levels of volunteers, staff and leadership.
• Must present a casual corporate level appearance and a high level of personal hygiene at all times.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

*Reliable personal or public transportation to and from Moonachie NJ location is necessary.

Skills You Will Need

• Excellent administration skills.
• Must have excellent Swing and Crafts Skills and knowledge of basic fabric cleaning/maintenance processes.
• Must be EXTREMELY organized and possess extraordinary interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
• Must be able to work independently as well as with a team and as a team leader.
• Must have competent computer skills including WORD, EXCEL Power point.
• Must be able to stand for 60-90 consecutive minutes, multiple times per day.
• Must be able to lift, push or pull over 40 lbs., multiple times per day.
• Must arrive promptly to work including off site locations.
