What to Expect
As the Culinary Coordinator at Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, you will be instrumental in providing exceptional culinary experiences for our dedicated employees. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of food service operations, from managing vendor relationships and ensuring operational excellence to maintaining and optimizing assets. What You'll Do
- Oversee a diverse range of vendors daily, weekly, and quarterly by scheduling regular meetings and developing KPI platforms to maintain and elevate performance standards
- Collaborate with vendors to seamlessly execute custom events, ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale town halls and shareholder meetings, managing multiple culinary responsibilities
- Administer a substantial inventory of culinary equipment for new space activations, coordinating with logistics and operations teams for efficient delivery and installation
- Partner with architecture and design teams to ensure functionality in newly developed spaces, while working alongside construction teams to uphold the highest quality standards
- Perform routine inspections of kitchen facilities and equipment to guarantee cleanliness and adherence to sanitation regulations
- Operate a proprietary feedback and request platform, serving as the central hub for catering, dining, micro-market, and vending operations
- Assign tickets to points of contact across multiple vendors and leverage collected data to make impactful decisions that positively influence Tesla's operations
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in a high-volume kitchen, ideally within corporate dining or hospitality environments
- Proficient culinary skills with expertise in diverse cuisines, cooking methods, and aesthetic food presentation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards, including HACCP principles
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
