What to Expect
This role as an AR Analyst on the Financial Operations Team at Tesla focuses on supporting residential operations with a primary emphasis on the accuracy and validity of accounts receivable. Key areas of responsibility include account reconciliations, account analysis, and metrics evaluation. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality financial processes and to drive continuous improvement as Tesla scales its operations. Leveraging technology and enhancing processes will be critical to success in this fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do
  • Review outstanding accounts receivable to determine validity and accuracy
  • Prepare appropriate journal entries for items requiring adjustment
  • Collaborate with business partners to identify root causes of sub-ledger posting issues
  • Compare and explain differences between data sources related to accounts receivable
  • Drive continuous improvement in the quality and accuracy of accounts receivable open balances for an exceptional customer experience
  • Work regularly with cash application analysts to establish best practices for handling overpayments and prepayments
  • Design reporting tools and dashboards to improve visibility into the health of accounts receivable balances while evaluating financial and operational metrics for management insights

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced accounting operations environment, with public company experience as a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, with SQL experience as a plus
  • Passion for process improvement and automation
  • Experience with large ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred
  • Ability to articulate issues and propose solutions for process and system improvements
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
