Credit Risk (CR) is a central part of Goldman Sachs' risk management framework, with primary responsibility for assessing, monitoring and managing credit risk at the Firm. CR is staffed globally with offices including New York, London, Salt Lake City, Dallas, Warsaw, Bengaluru, Hong Kong and Tokyo. CR professionals with expertise in financial, credit and risk analysis work closely with many areas of the Firm as well as clients, offering a unique opportunity to gain a broad perspective on the activities of the Firm. CR partners with other divisions in the firm and externally with clients to support the Firm's wide array of banking and trading businesses. CR professionals are part of the value proposition of the Firm and balance our key functional responsibility of control with that of being commercial. Responsibilities:



  • Assess the credit and financial strength of counterparties by performing fundamental credit analysis of both quantitative and qualitative credit factors
  • Perform counterparty reviews, including recommending appropriate internal risk rating for each counterparty and setting credit limits
  • Review lending, derivative, and funding transactions while ensuring appropriate documentation and risk mitigants to protect against default and minimize potential losses
  • Coordinate with Investment Banking/Capital Markets, Sales & Trading, Legal and Operations departments to assess transactions and ensure appropriate documentation, risk mitigants, and limits
  • Proactively monitor and assess counterparties and industry subsectors, as well as report relevant information and its impact to senior management in a timely manner
  • Monitoring adherence to credit exposure limits and measuring credit exposure and losses from counterparty default


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent academic record
  • Demonstrable track record of achievement and independent decision making
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Integrity, ethical standards and sound judgment
  • 0-2 years of experience in a financial services role
