Academic Plastic Surgeon - Microsurgery & Reconstruction University of Washington Division of Plastic Surgery The University of Washington Division of Plastic Surgery invites applications from board-certified or board-eligible plastic surgeons for a full-time faculty position. This opportunity provides expansive potential for clinical expertise, leadership roles, academic inquiry, and medical education within a collegial setting. This position offers flexible emphasis on microsurgical breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery, sarcoma reconstruction, and facial reanimation. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service About Our Division: UW Plastic Surgery consists of 15 plastic surgeons, three advanced practice providers, three fellows, and 28 integrated plastic surgery residents in a fully accredited training program. We serve as the primary resource for the WWAMI region (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) affording us the opportunity to grow high-complexity surgical programs. Our division works across the full spectrum of institutions including an expanding quaternary referral center, a busy Level 1 trauma center, a world-leading children's hospital, a vibrant community hospital, and a major regional Veterans Affairs medical center. Our cancer care and research benefit from strong partnership with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Position Highlights: Faculty appointment at the Assistant without tenure by reason of funding (WOT) or Associate Professor (WOT) level depending on experience and qualifications. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position will have an anticipated start date in Fall/Winter 2025. Clinical focus encompassing the broad spectrum of plastic surgery including microsurgical breast reconstruction, lymphedema surgery, sarcoma reconstruction, and facial reanimation Leadership opportunities to grow and expand the existing lymphedema surgery program Primary practice site at University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) - Montlake Campus, with UWMC - Northwest Campus as secondary site Teaching role with exceptional medical students, residents, and division fellows Development of scholarly expertise aligned with your clinical interests No hand or craniofacial call responsibilities We Offer: Competitive salary with guaranteed base (Assistant Professor (WOT): $370,008-$410,004 per year ($30,834-$34,167 per month). Associate Professor (WOT): $425,004-$500,004 per year ($35,417-$41,667 per month). Base salaries at all ranks will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the University of Washington Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position includes clinical productivity incentives through UWP. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in university benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
