Position description

The department of Political Science at UC Riverside seeks qualified applicants to teach the following course during the fall quarter of 2025:

POSC 010 American Politics: An introduction to the principles and practices of government. Focusing on the policy process and selected political issues in the United States.

Fall quarter will begin September 22, 2025

Approximate salary will be $7,886 per course dependent on experience and final budget approval

Successful candidates must possess an M.A. degree in a related field, with one year of teaching experience at the college level and a commitment to teaching excellence. A Ph.D. is a preferred qualification, but candidates that have attained ABD status will also be considered. Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and relevant teaching experience. Candidates should have teaching experience on topics related to the field of American Politics. Course offerings are subject to availability of funding.

Duties: Develop course material and lectures, conduct in-person lectures, supervise TA team, assign grades, regular office hours, all course management.
