TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

GENERAL FUNCTION: Mentoring employees to assist in a successful transition into their work environment. Performs various duties as assigned by Training Manager

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations and workshops.

Confers with supervision to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes and/or upgrades in policies, procedures, regulations and technologies.

Assist in the testing of new employees as required.

Assist in projects for the facilities as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Basic knowledge of welding and fitting. Ability to operate track torch, various cutting rigs i.e; oxy/acet; plasma; and welding and fitting equipment. Ability to work while exposed to dust, dirt, extreme temperatures, and other disagreeable conditions. Ability to lift, bend, and twist. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with company personnel, and trainees.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: High school education or equivalent and additional training in fitting and welding, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in required knowledge, skills and abilities.
