Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Office of Interprofessional Health Initiatives (
IHI) supports the intentional integration of interprofessional education, practice, and collaboration across
UNC-CH. The mission of this unit is to support interprofessional endeavors that enhance the capacity and capability to improve health outcomes. Interprofessional Health Initiatives contains the Office of
IPEP, Office of Health Professions Advising, and
UNC Rural, all pan-university initiatives with many internal and external partners. Collaborating units include the Schools of Business, Dentistry, Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Social Work; the department Health Sciences; Biomedical Engineering, and the Health Sciences Library. Position Summary |
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Program Coordinator position will focus on supporting the work of
UNC Rural, including the Carolina Rural Health Collaborative, other
UNC Rural programs, and across Interprofessional Health Initiatives as needed. This position involves program administration, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven decision-making to ensure successful outcomes. The Program Coordinator will establish clear expectations, monitor project progress, and engage with key partners to address rural healthcare workforce challenges and other identified priorities in rural communities and will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and management of programs. The role involves engaging and problem-solving with multiple units across campus and community partners to achieve project outcomes.
This position will require driving. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
-Experience managing projects, timelines/deadlines and budgets
-Proficiency with Microsoft office suite and learning management systems
-Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
-Budget management experience
-Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
-Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
-Commitment to honest communication, integrity and ethical behavior
-Ability to set and achieve goals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- Experience with community engagement and project management, with an emphasis in managing multiple stakeholders
- Experience within the healthcare, academic, or community setting is preferred. |

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities |
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities. |
