What this role is about:
The Whey Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various positions in the whey department, processing whey into high quality whey ingredients by following standard procedures, method and practices.
Operate Lactose System & Crystallizers including: Start-Up, Shutdown, CIP, Hourly Readings and Packaging. Operate Reduce Lactose Dryer & Finisher including: Start-Up, Shutdown, CIP, Hourly Readings and Packaging. Operate Evaporator, HTST, Separators and Filtration Equipment including: Start-Up, Shutdown, CIP, Hourly Readings. Operate RO System and Polisher including: Start-Up, Shutdown, CIP, Hourly Readings. CIP Tanks, Silos and Line Circuits as required. Perform Laboratory Sample Tests as required. Complete Master Sanitation Tasks as required. Safely and efficiently load and unload Dry Cargo Trailers. Safely and efficiently load and unload Tanker Trucks Safely and efficiently operate a Lift Truck.
What you need to be a Whey Operator:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience is an asset Lift Truck License required: in-house training provided. Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness in work. Follow one- or two-step verbal instructions; read and follow written instructions; perform routine and repetitive tasks; carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or verbal instructions; complete simple checklists and required documentation. Basic math plus fractions, decimals and percentages. Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
