The Opportunity

We are seeking a Retirement Benefits Junior Analyst to join our Firm. This individual will provide support for all Partners, attorneys, business services professionals, and outside vendors inquiries with respect to the Firm's qualified retirement plans and will assist other departmental staff with the administration and analysis of the Firm's qualified retirement plans, including routine daily/weekly/monthly/annual administrative functions, communications, and data management. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

  • Provides support for all Partners, attorneys, business services professionals, and outside vendors inquiries with respect to the Firm's qualified retirement plans:
    • Assists in the resolutions of participant inquiries.
    • Assists with the oversight of vendors, related data files, and reporting.
    • Assists in managing the qualified retirement plan pages on the Firm's Intranet to provide information to further educate plan participants on plans' provisions.
    • Assists with the development and distribution of all required communications and special ad hoc communications.
  • Assists with the administration of the Firm's Savings Plan (401k), Cash Balance Plan (DB) and Retirement Plan (DC).
    • Assists with the semi-annual determination of qualified retirement plans' eligibility.
    • Prepares the bi-weekly and semi-monthly Savings Plan payroll reconciliations and assists with rectifying any discrepancies through the preparation of payroll adjustments.
    • Assists with the audit of weekly and monthly reports including but not limited to new hire / rehire reports, reports from vendors including weekly reverse feeds and auto enrollment reports, and other files, as directed.
    • Assists with under $7K process.
    • Assists with the monthly termination process including the preparation and distribution of participant termination packages and, the review of participant distribution election forms for completion and accuracy.
    • Assists in the processing of all qualified retirement plans' distributions and related communications.
    • Assists with Partner Savings Plan monthly funding process.
    • Assists with the timely, accurate completion of projects, as assigned.
    • Creates and maintains all qualified retirement plan participants' paper and electronic files and annual administration files. Scans various participant related documents to participants' electronic files within the Firm's document management system.
    • Audits participants' qualified retirement plan files for valid beneficiary designation forms, solicits participants for completed beneficiary designation forms and scans/maintains forms in participants' electronic and paper files.
    • Assists in the preparation of annual Savings Plan processing schedules.
  • Ensures adherence to all plan documents and applicable IRS regulations.
    • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
    • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
    • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Defined Contribution (DC) and Defined Benefit (DB) plans
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • High proficiency in MS Excel with experience in and knowledge of formulas (i.e., vlookup, pivot tables)
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs is preferable (e.g., Workday, Outlook, MS Office, NetDocuments, Records Management), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
  • Knowledge of benefits field and procedures
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions
  • Flexibility to adjust hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of one year of benefits experience utilizing Excel and analytical skills.

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Salary Details

$70,000 - $75,000
