Telecommunications Engineer/Admin/Analyst Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid: 3 Days On-Site / 2 Days Remote)
Company: TEKsystems Contract Duration: 6 Months (Expected to be extended, opportunity for conversion Full-Time) Positions Available: 2 Employment Type: W2 Only (No C2C or 1099) About the Role TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer/Admin/Analyst to support our client in the engineering, administration, and support of complex voice communication systems. This expert-level role will be instrumental in supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses and ensuring seamless telecom operations across the system. Key Responsibilities * Engineer, design, and maintain telecom systems including: * Cisco Call Manager v15, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder, VG Analog Gateways * RingCentral cloud-based voice platform, Nice CX One, RingClone, MS Teams/WebRTC integrations * Avaya Communications Manager v17, Aura Messaging, CMS, VeraSmart, Virtual Observer * Provide Tier 3 support and serve as SME for telecom technologies * Collaborate with IT teams (Network, Service Desk, PMO) on escalations and projects * Perform system backups and troubleshoot using tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and TraceSBC * Support peripheral systems: SPOK paging, IVR, call recording, overhead paging * Deliver technical training and documentation for end users and internal teams * Travel to regional sites for on-site support and implementations Required Skills * Telecom engineering and troubleshooting (Cisco, Avaya, RingCentral) * SIP trunking, LAN/WAN, QoS, VLAN tagging * Data center operations and cabling standards (Cat 5/6, RJ-11/45, fiber terminations) * Familiarity with ServiceNow, Office 365, and vendor portals (Verizon, Windstream, Granite) Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience * 4-5 years in telecom and IT network systems * Certifications: CCNP, CCIPP, or Avaya/RingCentral training preferred * Must reside within 60 minutes of metro Boston and be willing to travel regularly Work Environment * Hybrid Schedule: 3 days on-site (Boston, Brockton, or Manchester, NH) and 2 days remote per week * Involvement in high-impact projects tied to hospital acquisitions Additional Information * Drug Test Required * C2C / Sub-Vendor Use: Not permitted * Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a W2 basis Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
