As a Human Services Aide II in the Human Services Department, you will be responsible for providing routine non-technical assistance and supportive services to clients and staff, including answering phones and providing excellent customer service. You will act as a liaison between professional staff, individuals facing barriers or inequities, and groups in the community to ensure access to available services offered by the Department. Additional responsibilities include:

 

  • Providing support to case workers through various clerical activities
  • Greeting clients and assisting them with questions and the completion of forms and applications over the phone, via email, and in person
  • Providing outreach to schools, neighborhoods, and the community to ensure easy access to available services
  • Working with clients who are hostile, upset, or experiencing mental health struggles
  • Operating a variety of modern office machines and equipment including personal computers, document imaging equipment, copiers, and printers
  • Acting as a liaison with community agencies by keeping rosters and client paperwork updated
  • Evaluating client service needs, and providing information and guidance regarding various services and resources
  • Scheduling and proctoring vocational testing
  • Making reminder calls to clients regarding upcoming appointments
  • Scheduling clients for meetings, workshops, and/or trainings
  • Entering information into databases and spreadsheets and generating receipts and reports
