Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $124960 - $165572. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about finance? Reporting directly to the Senior Director - Business Controlling, the Product Development Controller is responsible for managing financial requirements and becoming a key strategic business partner for the Product Development and Technology, Breakthrough, and Innovation (TBI) teams and Power Systems Services (PSS). Additional responsibilities include ensuring Product Development, TBI and PSS teams run efficiently and cost effectively and supporting leadership and management with a focus on improved performance while maintaining procedures and processes that ensure efficacy and continuous improvement through key business metrics. The position will work closely with the Product Development, TBI and PSSI teams to assist in driving extensive and sustainable growth for their respective business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving performance by supporting critical decisions with business and financial insights into the Product Development processes
  • Providing financial support and generating timely month-end and quarterly reports to the global Product Development organization
  • Leading forecasting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning activities
  • Identifying and evaluating business drivers, KPIs, and trends and recommending improvements to management
  • Identifying cost impacts and influences on new product strategies
  • Developing financial modeling for new products, along with a broader product portfolio analysis
  • Preparation of business cases along with calculating ROIs and measuring performance
  • Promoting and initiating resource optimization and real option analysis across projects
  • Identifying and mitigating business risks and organization blind spots to curb inefficiencies
  • Assisting with automation and process improvement projects as needed
  • Business partnering with our project engineering and services team to provide numbers-driven insights that lead to value creation within their departments
  • Analyze costs of projects and products to identify trends and recommend profitability improvements
  • Analyze the cash position of projects to ensure the projects are in a cash positive or cash neutral position
  • Preparing and publishing monthly financial reports to the engineering and services team and providing recommendations for growth and improvement opportunities
  • Produce and evaluate budget, forecasts, and 5-year planning for our Power Systems Solutions team
  • Support monthly account reconciliations and annual financial audit
  • Manage and support Oracle Projects and assist with system updates and upgrades
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules

What You Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 7+ years progressive work experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, and/or Commercial Finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Business Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM Cloud, and other accounting software used by the organization
  • Experience with a mix of accounting, FP&A, and business systems analysis experience supporting financial environments and a good understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in business planning processes, budgets, forecasts
  • Ability to execute time management and organizational skills, pay attention to detail, and prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities, along with experience gathering, analyzing, and summarizing complex data into actionable recommendations for business leaders.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial and statistical data but can also see the "big picture"
  • Experience leading team members and project teams, managing processes, and working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency with guiding, coaching, and training to other team members
  • Thoroughly understand finance & accounting concepts, with a general understanding of GAAP
  • Preferred
  • Oracle ERP Proficiency with Oracle ERP, Oracle EPM Cloud, and other accounting software used by the organization
  • Experience with a mix of financial and cost accounting, FP&A, and business systems analysis experience supporting financial environments and a good understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
