Job Description: The Night Mechanic will complete repairs and preventive maintenance on heavy duty trucks and trailers at the company Truck Shop in Rogers, MN. A Day in the Life
- Performs preventative maintenance to truck and trailers.
- Diagnoses engine mechanical and fuel systems issues on trucks including engines, drive train components, hydraulic systems, air and electric systems.
- Utilizes computer systems to diagnose issues with electronic engines on trucks.
- Utilizes tools for repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems.
- Repairs 12-volt D.C. electrical systems on trucks.
- Fabricates and repairs equipment using steel and aluminum welding equipment.
- Involved with maintaining a clean and safe shop environment.
- Keeps supervisor informed of known actions, written or verbal, which may affect the ability to successfully perform assignments or adversely affect Company operations.
- Other projects or duties as assigned by management.
What You'll Need
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of heavy-duty truck components.
- Ability to adhere to all safety rules, policies, and regulations, and the ability to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with changing priorities and situations.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with coworkers and management, verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently at times, assuring repair decisions are made utilizing appropriate experience and tasks are completed and in a timely manner.
What Will Set You Apart
- Vocational or technical training/certification preferred. Vocational students encouraged to apply.
- Experience using diagnostic software is a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus.
Other
- Requires 10-hour workdays, Monday through Thursday; 3-5-hour workdays every other Friday, with alternating Friday's off.
- Work hours are 4:30 p.m. - 3:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday; 4:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. every other Friday. Every other Friday off.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Hourly Compensation: $30.00 - $37.75/hour plus OT
The hourly range may vary depending on geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
