BBSI has partnered with a well-established power systems company based in Lakeside, CA, with a satellite office in Anaheim.

We're seeking a Field Service Manager to lead a team supporting generator and electrical service operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment and is committed to delivering dependable power solutions.

Position Summary

The Field Service Manager will oversee day-to-day field operations for our generator and critical backup power service teams. This role will drive excellence in maintenance, commissioning, diagnostics, and emergency response, ensuring customer satisfaction while upholding safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate generator and electrical service technicians across multiple customer sites
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, commissioning, and emergency repair of back-up power systems, including diesel generators, transfer switches, and UPS equipment
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams-service, logistics, engineering-to ensure smooth workflow and communication
  • Review service reports, manage project documentation, and maintain equipment service histories
  • Manage technician scheduling, travel planning, and on-call rotations
  • Track key performance indicators and propose improvements for service efficiency and responsiveness
  • Hands-on involvement with emergency power systems serving commercial and industrial facilities
  • Qualifications

    • 5+ years of field service or generator technician experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-leading capacity
    • Deep familiarity with backup power equipment, including troubleshooting and repair
    • Strong customer-service orientation and ability to lead field personnel under pressure
    • Valid driver's license, clean record, ability to travel frequently
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with CRM or service management software (e.g., Salesforce)
