Electrical Outside Sales Representative

Location: Salt Lake - Utah

Region: UT/NV/ID

Technical electrical outside sales representative whose primary focus is on growth with existing customers and new business development. This position involves sales, applications engineering and field service work. Extensive formalized training is provided while working under a mentor to gain an understanding of our products, how we go to market, application engineering as well as business development and sales strategies. Be prepared to work in a result driven, fast-paced environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties that are customarily associated with an outside sales position such as: Research and develop opportunities for new business and existing customers
  • Increase sales through educating and promoting products to customers
  • Travel frequently to remote job-sites with overnight stays in Utah, Nevada & Idaho
  • Promote product manufacturers and convey their vision to capture market share
  • Provide sales support and technical advice for a wide range of industrial electrical applications
  • Work directly with engineers, contractors, end users, and manufacturers
  • Provide top notch customer service for customers and vendors including technical product support, job site visits and hands-on trouble shooting
  • Prepare quotes and submittals
  • Review and interpret customer electrical drawings/schematics, and bills of materials, plans, and specifications
  • Make in person, virtual and phone presentations to customers/prospects to grow the customer base
  • Required Skills: Experience in the electrical industry
  • Knowledge of electrical terms and ANSI/IEEE codes and symbols
  • Valid driver's license
  • MSHA certified
  • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in relevant field or 3-5 years equivalent experience in electrical sales
  • Excellent computer, organizational, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong desire to succeed and interface with the customer

Salary: $70,000- $100,000 per year (depending on experience) + commissions & bonuses

Travel Requirements: 75% (3 days/ week; Tuesday- Thursday)
