Biorepository Technician Job Responsibilities:



  • Ensures that all areas of the Biorepository are following all required regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Maintains a climate of compliance/quality within the biorepository to assure highest quality of laboratory processing.
  • Offers consultations for new projects and act as subject matter expert for project planning.
  • Designs and executes laboratory experiments, be responsible for data generation, assay optimization/validation.
  • Develops and manages policies, procedures, processes, and protocols for biobanking services that support the research community including tissue handling, quality control (QC) work, and access to biospecimens.
  • Works actively with study teams across all Service Lines to support their needs with biobanking services.
  • Responsible for receiving, unpacking, accessioning, aliquoting and inventorying biospecimens.
  • Establishes and updates various databases for clinical sample tracking.
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)
  • Years of Experience: 2 years of experience in a biorepository or laboratory
  • Certification Upon Start:

    • Pertinent research certification and human research protections training(Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program , National Institute of Health) 1 month upon hire.
    • Basic Life Support. New hires within 3 months. Current TMs within 6 months of 9/12/2023
