Join Macquarie's Commodities Operations Group as a Global Payments and Operations Analyst. In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering business-aligned support services to our Commodities and Global Markets division, contributing to the seamless execution of critical operations.
As part of the Corporate Operations Group, the Operations Division underpins the operational infrastructure required to facilitate the settlement of diverse financial and physical products. This includes enterprise-wide payment support, with a primary focus on our Commodity Markets and Finance division.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will oversee the setup of deal settlement across various systems, teams and regions; ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of cash flow obligations across multiple currencies and business units. You will also manage transaction setup for client accounts, including validation of payment formatting for outgoing payments. With a proactive mindset, you will be trained across various roles and tasks within the team, bringing a positive attitude, operational expertise, and payments knowledge to drive success.

  • Experience in financial operations: Prior experience in trade support/settlements is advantageous, along with knowledge of systems such as Calypso and SWIFT message formatting.
  • Attention to detail and accountability: A methodical approach to tasks, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work with a questioning and analytical mindset.
  • Ownership and control focus: A high level of personal accountability, with an understanding of operational controls, procedures, and banking regulations.
  • AI and technical skills: A keen interest in leveraging AI to enhance workflow efficiency, with experience in basic programming, data analysis, or workflow tools such as Python, R, Alteryx, or Power BI being highly desirable.
  • Problem-solving skills: The ability to investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks effectively.
