Job Description

The Associate Director, Microsoft 365 Platform Technical Lead will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Microsoft 365 (M365) collaboration ecosystem, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, and related services. This role will oversee platform operations, drive service excellence, and manage a global team including offshore managed service providers. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong vendor management skills, and a passion for enabling productivity through modern collaboration tools.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end operations of the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of collaboration services.
  • Serve as the technical authority for M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related compliance and security capabilities.
  • Manage and optimize relationships with offshore managed service providers, ensuring SLAs, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Security, Compliance, Infrastructure, End User Services) to align M365 services with enterprise standards and business needs.
  • Drive platform governance, lifecycle management, and roadmap planning in alignment with enterprise collaboration strategy.
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and problem management for M365-related issues.
  • Provide technical leadership in M365 migrations, integrations, and automation initiatives.
  • Stay current with Microsoft's roadmap and industry trends to proactively recommend enhancements and innovations.
  • Support budget planning, license management, and cost optimization for M365 services.
  • Drive conversations with business users to align on priorities and maintain backlog focus

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Strong understanding of M365 security, compliance, and governance capabilities (e.g., DLP, eDiscovery, retention policies).
  • Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Power Platform experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and third-party service providers.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Graph API) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without authority.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 7 years in Microsoft 365 platform leadership roles.
  • Experience managing global teams, including offshore delivery models.
  • Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.

Pay Range:

$153,600 - $230,400

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
