Essential Job Duties
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences ( CALS) IT group provides comprehensive technology support to departments, centers, and research stations within the NC State community. This temporary position will support CALS classrooms and conference rooms across the main and Centennial campuses, ensuring instructional and A/V technologies function smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with A/V equipment, videoconferencing systems, and multimedia tools
  • Support wired and wireless network connectivity in instructional spaces
  • Provide Tier 1 or Tier 2 IT support in teaching and research labs
  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with instructional technology and e-learning tools
  • Manage support tickets independently and collaboratively
  • Support A/V installations and integrations in new and existing spaces
  • Provide technical support to the Plant Sciences Initiative

Work Schedule Core Business Hours are Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, this position is available for 35 - 40 hours a week within core business hours.
Other Work/Responsibilities
This position will require driving to various classrooms across campus ~ 20-25 hours a week.
Minimum Experience/Education
Department Required Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • At least one year of experience with A/V integration and support
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and macOS
  • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate standard office equipment

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Extron A/V Associates or CTS certification
  • Experience with Extron/Crestron systems, lecture capture, and conferencing tools (Zoom, Webex, etc.)
  • Experience in higher education, especially in research environments
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, JAMF, and computer imaging
  • Experience with large-format printers and vendor coordination
