Under the direction of the Director of Public Health Nursing and in close partnership with the Human Services Department's Adult and Aging Division, the Supervising Public Health Nurse (PHN) plays a pivotal role in planning, organizing, and overseeing public health nursing programs that serve vulnerable and older adult populations. This position is responsible for supervising a team of Public Health Nurses and serves as a liaison between Public Health and Human Services, as well as with community-based organizations. The Supervising PHN helps assess community needs and develops collaborative strategies to improve population health outcomes. Additional duties may include:

• Participating in hiring, onboarding, educating, and evaluating staff
• Supporting budget management, grant compliance, and program evaluation
• Facilitating the use of evidence-based practices 
• Helping to identify service gaps and system improvements 
• Representing programs at internal and external meetings, and making presentations as needed 
• Supporting program compliance by ensuring the team follows relevant federal, state, and local regulations
