How You'll Make an Impact
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Senior Field Coordinator plays a key role in promoting Dudek's safety programs and success of the Watercraft Inspection Program. This position supports the safety team and program management by assisting with the implementation of field safety protocols, delivering key safety communications, managing equipment and PPE distribution, and supporting the onboarding and training of field staff.
Working under the guidance of the EHS team and program leadership, the EHS Field Coordinator will help ensure that day-to-day field operations align with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal best practices. This individual will also assist with incident response, field audits, and the coordination of certifications and compliance documentation.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in field operations and a solid understanding of safety procedures, who thrives in a team environment and is committed to fostering a safety-first culture across all field teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the EHS team and program management in implementing field safety policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a field liaison for safety communication, delivering daily/weekly safety briefings and updates.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new field staff, ensuring completion of required safety certifications and documentation.
  • Monitor PPE inventory, distribute supplies, and ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
  • Conduct routine field safety walk-throughs, check-ins, and compliance spot checks.
  • Document and report safety observations, near misses, and incidents; assist in incident investigations and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate and maintain records related to safety training, certifications, and incident reports.
  • Support the roll-out of new safety initiatives and program improvements.
  • Assist with the development of field-specific job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safe work procedures.
  • Foster a safety-minded culture among field staff through positive reinforcement and visibility in the field.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 2+ years of field-based experience in environmental, construction, public works, or similar field settings.
  • Familiarity with California OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and field safety best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with field teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively under the direction of a safety or management team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptable to mobile-based technologies; willingness to learn and use internal systems such as WID.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including both day and occasional evening hours, to accommodate field safety coverage needs.
  • Proactive, approachable, and adaptable in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams and field staff.
  • Leadership skills and strong ability to work in a collaborative environment;
  • Strong customer service emphasis and solution-oriented approach to challenges;
  • Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments with minimal oversight;

Compensation: $26-36.05/hr*
*Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.

Environment
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job will require occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This job requires the following:
  • Working on a computer, sitting, or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.
  • Employees must be capable of bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 35 lbs. unassisted; 50lbs in a team lift (two or more employees).
  • Attending meetings, both in person and virtually, and speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
