The Lead Completions Coordinator is responsible for leading facility start-up, operational readiness, and completions execution across medium-sized energy, chemicals, and resources projects. The role ensures systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in a state ready for operation by directing all activities associated with mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover. This individual plays a pivotal role in realizing Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change by ensuring projects transition seamlessly from construction through operations with integrity and traceability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all start-up and completions activities, including mechanical completion, system turnover, pre-commissioning, and operational readiness across complex projects.

  • Direct and manage field operations teams, start-up personnel, and completions engineers to deliver scope in alignment with project milestones and safety standards.

  • Oversee the implementation of completions management systems (CMS) and ensure accurate documentation, certification, and traceability of all systems and subsystems.

  • Review project designs to assess operability and recommend changes that support maintainability, safe operations, and long-term reliability.

  • Develop and manage completion execution plans, system boundaries, punch list processes, and turnover packages in collaboration with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.

  • Align completions and start-up activities with Worley's broader project delivery strategy, ensuring consistency with sustainability and operational performance objectives.

  • Coordinate closely with procurement, construction, and field engineering to ensure readiness of equipment, documentation, and systems for handover.

  • Act as the primary interface for completions and start-up with the client, supporting seamless communication, reporting, and progress tracking.

  • Lead initiatives to identify and implement improvements to completions and start-up processes, tools, and team capability.

  • Foster a strong safety and performance culture across all aspects of completions and operations, promoting Worley's values and standards.

  • Support the transition of projects from construction to operations, ensuring that all systems meet functional, regulatory, and client requirements prior to handover.

  • Mentor and guide completions and operations team members, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.

Qualifications / Skillset:

  • University degree in engineering, operations management, or related field; or trade qualification with extensive relevant experience and supplemental training.

  • Significant experience managing completions and start-up processes in industrial project environments, including energy, chemical, and resource sectors.

  • In-depth understanding of completions methodologies, systems, and documentation, including the use of completions management systems (CMS).

  • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary field teams across mechanical completion, commissioning, and operations readiness phases.

  • Strong knowledge of facility operability, system handover requirements, and the interface between engineering, construction, and operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage change, resolve issues, and make decisions that balance safety, quality, schedule, and stakeholder expectations.

  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, engage, and align diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with industry tools, digital platforms, and documentation systems used in completions and commissioning.
